What we gained

On 17th March 2023, Team CM successfully launched an exhibition at High School affiliated to Renmin University of China. The exhibition is named after the community Caring minds^2 (The first caring is and advective, meaning "kind and helpful", and the second meaning that we hope that the viewers and ourselves could be able to care for their own minds and the minds of their peers). On our opening, we had around 100 viewers including the students, teachers, and our principal. We shared the background of our exhibition, what we did, and our future plans. We received very positive feedback from our psychology teachers, our peers, and our principal, allowing us to know that our work was recognized.

Interactive activities

To get our audiences more involved, we devised 3 interactive activities viewers can take part in. We got more than 50 viewers participated in these activities, sharing their thoughts on maintaining mental wellbeing and giving suggestions to their peers. These interactive activities also allow visitors to read comments and words left by each other.

A word of comfort

This is an interactive mailbox where you can share how you heal yourself when you are down. It can be anything that works for you. You may also leave a short encouraging and heart-warming message for others.

We got a full box of notes sharing ways to elevate moods. People shared their favorite comedies, cafe places, parks to take a walk, and songs they listen when they are down. Each visitors is allowed to take out notes written by others and read their sharings.

Behind the Exhibition

Team CM made a lot of effort behind the exhibition.

Researching the impact of COVID-19 on teenagers' mental health, the team did a comprehensive literature review and conducted in-depth interviews with our peers and psychiatrists under the instruction of our mentors. We also collected our peers' thoughts on how to elevate mood and how they thought COVID-19 affected their mental wellbeing by collaborating with WuJiang School magazine. We even devised our own WeChat Mini Program Teenage Anonymous where viewers can nuggle off their chest, receive and give each other support and advice on maintaining a good mental status.

We had large numbers of students and teachers coming and going to see our exhibition every day.

Seeing teachers taking photos of the posters we put up, students stopping by to appreciate the fine art work exhibited, and having random conversations with our viewers to hear about their takeaways from the exhibition gave the team a strong sense of fulfillment.
